In an amazing year for English wine, we are pleased to offer our 1st selection of the Independent English Wine Association medal winners from this Summer. Its perfect for the warm weather as it includes a Rosé, 3 Sparkling and 2 White wines, including:

Woodread Vineyard's Hunter

Hailing from Buxted Park, the combination of Chardonnay, Pinot Meunier and Pinot Noir grapes produces this classic English Sparkling White Wine, which is expertly made by renowned winemaker, Will Davenport. The wine demonstrates a vibrant nose, with floral and almond notes, lovely autolytic character, excellent mouthfeel with great flavour development.

Grapes: Chardonnay, Pinot Noir

Alcohol 12.5%

JoJo's Bacchus - Seyval Blanc

This is the first ever wine from JoJo’s Vineyard. This is a fresh, vibrant, expressive and elegant white wine, carefully crafted by blending the finest Bacchus (74%) & Seyval Blanc (26%) grapes that were hand harvested in 2021, and fermented in both French oak barrels and stainless steel.

A slow indigenous yeast fermentation has put all of the focus of this wine onto the fruit profile. The nose has an abundance of quince, apple blossom and white peach. The palate has good weight but is also fresh with a citrus driven acidity. The quince and gala apple comes through here too.

This light white wine best served lightly chilled, is fantastic on its own, or with seafood, chicken or summer garden veg. There was no filtration of this wine, so it may throw a small deposit, which just adds to it.

Oastbrook Sparkling Cuvee 2014

The grapes were pressed in a traditional Coquard press. After fermentation the base wines were kept separate and remained on their gross yeast lees over winter to develop additional complexity and richness. The base wines did not go through malolactic fermentation. Bottled in May 2014 the Cuvee was disgorged on September 2021 and has spent 87 months on the lees.

This is a rich ripe, full and surprisingly generous Cuvee. Aromas of lemon, pear and apple and hedgerow flowers and hints of brioche. The palate is lovely, lush and elegant and the finish long and equally luscious with a hint of shortbread.

Grape: 62% Chardonnay, 21% Pinot Noir, 17% Pinot Meunier

Alcohol: 12%

Terlingham Pinot Noir & Dornfelder 2021

One of their newest releases, this still rosé has enticing aromas of fresh wild raspberry, ginger and blackcurrant. On the palate, you’ll get red apple and thyme with a delicious cherry-plum finish. 2022 WineGB Bronze award also!

Heppington Chardonnay 2021

This elegant Chardonnay is aged in French Oak barrels with a delicate hazelnut aroma, a palate of orchard fruit, crunchy peach and a grapefruit zest finish.

Tasting Notes

A food-friendly drop to say the least, this Chardonnay will flourish in the company of shellfish. Take it on a trip to the beach (don’t forget the cooler bag) and use it to slurp down a few freshly shucked oysters. Or, for a simple yet luxurious supper with friends, serve it alongside a lobster linguine.

Wine GB awards 2022 Silver Medal also!

Terlingham Blanc de Blancs Sparkling

The gorgeous, fresh acidity and dryness of this Blanc de Blancs is the perfect pairing for seafood dishes like sushi, sashimi, oysters or scallops.

Grape: Chardonnay
