Oastbrook Pinot Noir Reserve 2021

Intense dark ruby colour clean and crisp with the pure expressive terroir on the palate

Medium bodied with moderate tannins the wine is, silky and aromatic with notable freshness and a splash bouquet of summer red fruits predominantly strawberries and dry cranberry , orange rinds, and slightly spicey with a hint of warm vanilla toast and cream caramel with a long finish. The tannins are still fresh but well balanced and this a wine that could be drunk now but will age well. This wine pairs well with duck, beef bourguignon and roasted chicken as well as hard cheese.

 The wine was cold macerated for several days before a natural ferment at lower temperatures was superseded by a higher temperature fermentation, some was fermented in oak barrels. The wine was matured in Burgundian oak barrels for 12 months and allowed to go through full natural malolactic fermentation in Spring. Bottled in Nov 2022.
